Google Messages V3.9 Update to Bring Spam Protection & Support for Sharing Calendar Events

0Shares

Google has started rolling out a new update to its Messages app bringing few changes to one of the widely used application. With version 3.9, the attachment action has been switched from sharing to downloads now. This means the user can now download the attachments from the floppy disc icon and will be saved on the Downloads folder. In the V3.9, the users could share the attachment via the share button which has been changed to be replaced at the overflow menu on the right.

Furthermore, Google has been working on Spam protection and we have the references of the same which clearly indicates that this feature could be coming soon. A new text and settings have been added along with this new update which will be used for managing as well as advertising the feature when it will go live. The user can just toggle between enable or disable spam protection on their device.

Since the this new feature is not live yet, we need to wait for few more days to know more about the same. A couple of months earlier, we have seen the tech giant adding a widget to its messages attachment screen which makes it easier to share contacts. This brings the possibility of Google to bring in more features to allow its users to share more, which includes sharing the calendar events with family or friends. This can be shared via another application and make messenger to send this as an attachment.

It is also speculated that there will be messages for group chats as we reported earlier which will work like WhatsApp groups we have witnessed. Well, we need to wait for few more days to get more information on the same when the update will be available officially for everyone. You can download the APK from here and side-load it, but it is recommended to wait for the official rollout from Google.
